Software Engineer, Development (Sunnyvale, CA)

Responsibilities

As a member of the Core Product Development team, will be responsible for the design and development of publish-subscribe data distribution systems for time-critical and real-time distributed applications. Duties will include designing, developing, testing and integrating document software for Data Distribution Service (DDS); designing and developing new features for the DDS using C/C++ and Java; porting, testing and maintaining the middleware on operating systems (Windows, Solaris, Unix), real-time/embedded operating systems (VxWorks, Integrity, QNX, LynxOS, Windows CE), and hardware architectures (Intel, AMD, PowerPC, Sparc, ARM); maintaining build and test framework for middleware using gmake/makefiles, GCC, Solaris CC, Microsoft Visual C++ and Visual Studio, and compilation tools for VxWorks, Integrity, QNX, and LynxOS; middleware testing automation using Shell and PERL scripts; and utilizing O/S programming skills, real-time and embedded systems programming, compilation and scripting to perform the duties described above.

Requirements

• M.Sc. degree (or equivalent*) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field such as Software Engineering or Information Systems.
• Requires experience with or knowledge of embedded and real-time Operating Systems, hardware; and computer network software and distributed systems; C/C++ and Java; scripting in Perl, Phython, CVS, and SVN; SSH protocols, and TCP/UDP/RTPS technologies; and experience developing new features and porting middleware to new embedded architectures.
