Software Engineer, Sunnyvale, CA

Responsibilities

Design and development of publish-subscribe data distribution systems for time-critical and real-time distributed applications.

A member of the Research and Development team, duties will include:

• Designing, developing, testing and integrating software part of RTI Connext data distribution infrastructure products;
• Designing and developing features for the Data Distribution Service using C/C++ or Java;
• Porting, testing and maintaining the middleware on operating systems (Windows, Solaris, Unix), real-time/embedded operating systems (VxWorks, Integrity, QNX, LynxOS, Windows CE), and hardware architectures (Intel, AMD, PowerPC, Sparc, ARM);
• Maintain build and test framework for middleware using gmake/makefiles, GCC, Solaris CC, Microsoft Visual C++ and Visual Studio, and compilation tools for VxWorks, Integrity, QNX, and LynxOS; middleware testing automation using Shell and PERL scripts;
• Utilizing O/S programming skills, real-time and embedded systems programming, compilation and scripting to perform the duties described above.

Requirements

• M.S. degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with embedded and real-time Operating Systems and programming
• Network and system programming
• Scripting languages, C/C++ and Java
• Knowledge of computer networks and distributed systems
