SUNNYVALE, Calif.—February 1, 2011—Real-Time Innovations (RTI), The Global Leader in DDS, today unveiled its DDS Technology Network, a new program to provide government researchers with affordable access to Data Distribution Service for Real-Time Systems (DDS) middleware and expertise. This professional network brings together researchers working on distributed real-time systems, providing them with a complete suite of standards-compliant middleware, source code, training, consulting and access to the largest community of DDS users.
The DDS Technology Network includes:
"The DDS Technology Network jumpstarts government research projects through very affordable training, consulting and software," said Dr. Heidi Schubert, director of research at RTI. "We are providing access to key resources to ensure successful DDS application development and I look forward to collaborating with participants."
In addition to the DDS Technology Network, RTI offers no-charge license grants for universities as well as Independent Research and Development (IRAD) and Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) projects. Current participants include more than 200 organizations with applications in a diverse range of areas such as unmanned vehicles, energy and smart grid, manufacturing systems, robotics, security and networking.
"RTI has a dedicated, ongoing mission to enable and participate in research," said Gerardo Pardo-Castellote, chief technology officer at RTI. "The DDS Technology Network is designed to tighten RTI's bonds with the government research community and enable closer collaboration with and among these researchers."
Membership fees for the DDS Technology Network range from US$2,500 to $4,500 based on the number of members in an organization. Through June 30, 2011, RTI is offering all new members the lowest multi-user price of $2,500 per member, a 40 percent discount off the single-member price. Additionally, qualifying programs can receive RTI Data Distribution Service licenses for Windows and Linux operating systems at no cost.
RTI Data Distribution Service is the world's most widely used implementation of the Object Management Group (OMG) DDS specification. DDS is the leading standard for integrating distributed real-time applications and systems-of-systems. By bringing the benefits of a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to demanding mission-critical systems, DDS dramatically reduces the time and cost required for development, integration, testing, maintenance and upgrades.
Real-Time Innovations (RTI) is the world's leading provider of middleware compliant with the Object Management Group (OMG) Data-Distribution Service for Real-Time Systems (DDS) standard. With over 70 percent market share, more than 400 unique projects take advantage of RTI's software and expertise to slash the time and cost of systems integration. These span a broad range of industries including aerospace, defense, finance, intelligence, power generation and transportation. Founded in 1991, RTI is privately held and headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA. For more information, please visit www.rti.com.
