RTI Spreadsheet Add-in for Microsoft Excel provides turnkey, bi-directional integration between RTI Data Distribution Service and Microsoft Excel. It allows cells, formulas and charts to include subscriptions to real-time data streams, such as market data and sensor data, with values updated automatically and in real-time. Formula results can also be published in real-time to other applications and spreadsheets.

RTI Spreadsheet Add-in exploits the advanced capabilities of RTI Data Distribution Service to integrate seamlessly into existing systems. It requires little or no configuration. The add-in automatically discovers available data streams and schemas. In addition, there is no need for external servers or gateways. Spreadsheets communicate peer-to-peer with other applications for low latency and simple deployment and administration.
Wizards allow easy creation of publications and subscriptions using a point-and-click interface.
RTI Spreadsheet Add-in for Microsoft Excel extends the capabilities of RTI Data Distribution Service and the Object Management Group (OMG) Data Distribution Service for Real-Time Systems (DDS) middleware standard that it supports. It allows spreadsheets to participate seamlessly as peers on a DDS "real-time software bus" along with applications written in C, C++, Java, .NET and Ada; Complex Event Processing (CEP) engines; databases; and mobile and embedded devices.
The ease with which spreadsheets can interoperate with other DDS applications illustrates the flexibility of the DDS standard's data-centric approach to messaging and application integration.
